Examples of our portal work: Internano, Earth Thrives, Hidden-Tech, Mass Art and Culture

Our Portal Services:

TnR Global designs and develops portals for member based organizations. We build portals based on the Joomla! open source content management system. Portals can be built both as internal tools for organizations and as public sites where a larger audience can join as members.

For publicly facing portals, we offer integration with AdSense and other monetization options, and have created software to measure banner impressions and click through rates.

Scope of our work: From design to full implementation. TnR Global's expertise in open source software allows us to build portals from the ground up based on open source LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl, Python). Or we can work with systems you already have in place.

Examples of our portal work:Internano, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

Internano, National Nanomanufacturing Network Portal: The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, chose TnR Global for Web/Database Development of Internano, a Digital Library and Clearinghouse for the Center for Hierarchical Manufacturing.

The implementation required creating custom modules to integrate Lemur search (a search system developed by the UMass CIIR) and a very complex form to define expertise into a Joomla open source CMS. The core components include user management, document archival, and search functionality, as well as a member directory, forum, calendar of events, and news feed. The Project is supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. DMI-0531171.

Pro bono:

Hidden TechHidden-Tech: Hidden Tech is a rapidly growing group of small, mainly home-based companies scattered throughout Western Massachusetts who have come together to beat isolation, share business tips, find resources, create alliances, learn business skills and alert regional economic planners and technology service providers about their presence.

TnR Global created and continues to support the back-end of the Hidden Tech site. The system includes a member skills directory with authenticated access, forum, calendar, email lists, job board, blogs, and other functions, including an advanced skills profile system. Rich Roth is a Founding Board member, webmaster, and listmaster.
